NPS Scotland 60th Anniversary Event – Biomechanics and its effect on Equine Performance
Sunday 26th September 2021 at SNEC, Oatridge College, Broxburn EH52 6NH
To mark 60 years of the National Pony Society having presence in Scotland we are hosting the first ‘Biomechanics’ event in Scotland presented by two leading experts in this field, Dr Russell Mackechnie-Guire and well known coach and NPS judge, Erik Mackechnie-Guire FBHS.
The day will cover a wide range of topics applicable to all equestrian disciplines including conformation, locomotion, foot balancing, and saddlery which will be delivered through practical displays that will be enhanced by modern technology with the theory being supported by scientific evidence.
The afternoon will cover the ridden aspect and way of going which will cover posture and performance related to the different breeds, and individual show. Again using practical demonstrations which will be supported by the scientific evidence. We will also cover the use of marks and the suitability of the mount for the rider (size/height/weight) and several other current topics.
